Privacy Policy

Last updated November 2026.

Draft for review. Written for California’s online privacy law (CalOPPA), which requires a posted privacy policy on sites that collect personal information through forms. Have counsel review before launch, then remove this note.

This Privacy Policy explains how Conejo Valley Equine (“we,” “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit conejoequine.com (the “Site”) or contact us through it. It applies only to this Site, not to information we collect in the course of providing veterinary care, which is kept in your horse’s medical records.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you fill out a form (for example, an appointment request, new client registration or contact form), email us or text us, we receive what you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, your horse’s name and details, and the reason for your request. If you complete a credit card authorization form, the payment details you enter are collected by our form provider for billing.
  • Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information about visits, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to operate and secure the Site.

We do not use advertising cookies or analytics tracking on this Site.

How we use information

We use the information you submit to respond to you, schedule appointments, set up your client account, provide and bill for veterinary services, and communicate with you about your horse’s care. We use technical information to keep the Site running and secure.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site and our practice (such as our form and hosting providers), who may use it only to provide those services to us, and when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, patients or practice.

Third-party sites and services

Our forms are provided by a third-party form service, and our online pharmacy is operated by a separate company on its own website. The Site also links to other websites, such as referral hospitals, Google Maps and Facebook. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Do Not Track

The Site does not track visitors over time or across other websites, so it does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as full card numbers, by email or text.

Your choices

You may ask us to review, update or delete the personal information you have submitted through the Site by contacting us using the details below. We may need to keep certain records, such as medical and billing records, as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
